Arrival
Walk in from Brugge station, or use the centre bus.
Visit Bruges puts Markt about a 20-minute walk from Brugge station. If luggage, weather or mobility changes that calculation, check the current De Lijn centre connection. Start through Minnewater and the Beguinage if that fits your hotel location; the station-side tourist office has the official map.
Confirm bag drop with your accommodation. In the old centre, cobbles and car-restricted streets can make the last few minutes different from a map estimate.
Day one
Markt, Burg and the canals form a sensible first loop.
Orient yourself at Markt and Burg, then walk towards the canal streets around Rozenhoedkaai and Dijver. Choose the Belfry if the visit and stairs suit you, or take a canal boat when it is operating. The boat companies follow the same permitted route; tickets for individuals are sold at the embarkation points, and busy periods can mean a wait.
Keep dinner near the area where you sleep. The quieter canal walk after dinner is the advantage of an overnight, so avoid adding a distant second city on this short trip.
Day two
Use the second morning for one quieter side of Bruges.
Walk through the southern Minnewater and Beguinage area if you stayed near the station, or explore Sint-Anna and its quieter streets if you slept east of Markt. For rain, choose one open Musea Brugge location after checking its current day and ticket conditions; museum closures and exhibitions can change.

Markt and Burg put the main sights and restaurants close, but the central streets can be busy. Sint-Anna is quieter and suits a slower second morning, with a longer walk to the station. Minnewater and the Beguinage side offer a calmer approach from the train. The station–’t Zand corridor makes arrival and an early departure simpler, although it is less immersed in the canal core.
